Job Description:

The successful candidate will be an analytical problem solver, have an extremely high-level of customer focus and a passion for process improvement.
As you launch your internship as a Business Analyst at Amazon, you will work closely with a dedicated mentor over 10 weeks. The first half of the internship will teach you how to work with data at Amazon’s scale, and how Earth’s most customer-centric company does Customer Service. During the second half of the internship you will drive a project or analysis to completion—making material changes to the way we operate.

Key responsibilities include:
· Deriving actionable insights from ambiguous data sources
· Enable effective decision making by analyzing data from multiple sources and compiling it into a digestible and actionable format.
· Work with cross-functional teams on the execution of projects and initiatives.
· Drive small to medium projects that help build Amazon into the most customer-centric platform.
· Develop requirements and specifications with business and development teams to drive initiatives.
The expertise you’ll develop in the role:
· Write SQL to extract data for analyses and reporting
· Ability to break down and solve complex problems
· Develop high impact and scalable solutions
· Translate ambiguous business needs into quantitative projects

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· This opportunity is located in Seattle, Washington. Candidates must be willing to reside in Seattle for 10 weeks for the duration of the assignment. Relocation benefits offered for the 10 weeks.
· Candidates must be a rising senior pursuing an undergraduate degree. Students studying, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field are strongly preferred.
· Exceptional quantitative and analytical reasoning abilities
· Experience owning projects, involving complex data sets, to completion
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills with ability to balance competing priorities.
· Excellent written and oral communication skills, including an ability to communicate across business areas.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience with Excel, SQL, Python, R, Minitab, SAS, SPSS, MicroStrategy or any other data management and statistical analysis tools.
· Exposure to courses in Lean Six Sigma methodologies
· Deep interest and aptitude in data, metrics, analysis and trends and applied knowledge of measurement, statistics and program evaluation.
· Distinctive problem solving skills and good business judgment.
· Capable of translating analysis results into business recommendations.
