JOHN LENNON ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2019 Deadline Soon!!!

The John Lennon Endowed Scholarship program was established by Yoko Ono in the memory of her late husband, the entertainer John Lennon, in partnership with UNCF.

The scholarship program is designed to provide scholarship support to deserving students attending one of the 37 UNCF member institutions.

Eligible applicants must be majoring in Communications, Mass Communications, Mass Media Arts, Music and Performing Arts with cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better.

In addition, for award consideration, applicants must upload their current transcripts, two letter of recommendations and submit the online application by the deadline.

Finalists will receive up to $5000 need based scholarship award in the spring 2020 semester. Based on availability of funds, the scholarship is annually renewable for eligible students.

Intel Scholarship Deadline is Near!!!

Through the collaborative partnership with UNCF, Intel Corporation has established a scholarship program that helps ensure educational access and the reduction of the financial burden of attending college for talented students in need. In addition, UNCF works with Intel to identify qualified scholarship candidates who could potentially become future interns at Intel.


Eligible applicants must:

* Be an African American who is a U.S. Citizen;
* Be full time college juniors, seniors or graduates (MS and/or Ph.D) attending any four-year accredited college or university at the time of application;
* Maintain cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale;
* Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.

Also, applicants must complete the online application and submit the following application materials by the application deadline (December 31, 2019):
1. One letter of recommendation from faculty member who is familiar with the applicant’s academic abilities.
2. Essay; for details go to essay section
3. Official transcript and updated resume.

Select students will receive a $5,000 one-time scholarship in the Spring 2020. In addition, subsequent to the award, the selected students will be contacted by UNCF for virtual coaching/interviewing session. The objective of the coaching/interviewing session is to prepare and train the students for a potential internship opportunity at Intel Corporation.

JACK AND JILL OF AMERICA FOUNDATION 2019 DEADLINE NEAR!!!

The Jack and Jill of America Foundation is committed to the ongoing positive development of African American youth and the development of future leaders. In addition, the Foundation provides personal, professional and financial support to children in the areas of leadership skills, training, and development. Further, they are engaged in education, mentoring, health & wellness, early childhood, and economic development programs.

-Students must complete an online application within its entirety.
-The application is open to college freshmen, who are enrolled as FULL-TIME college students in the fall of 2019 at any accredited four-year institution.
-Students must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale at the time of high school graduation and upload an official transcript.
-Complete a one-page essay on your desired career interest.
-Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and have an demonstrated unmet need. (As identified per your institutions financial aid office).
-Students must be African-American citizens or permanent residents of the United States.
-Be able to certify at least 60 hours of active community service within this past academic school year.
This can be verified via the Community Service form (Located to your right and must be completed and uploaded to the application. Please note the SSN is not required.) Applications without the community service form successfully uploaded will not be considered for scholarship selection.
