During the academic year, the RISE Development Program provides opportunities for students to engage in paid research for 10 hours per week conducting biomedical or behavoiral research .
Students will be mentored by faculty in labs either at Spelman College or other area institutions. Participants will have an opportunity to interact and network with scientists and other researchers through participation in weekly program meetings, lectures, research symposia, and conferences, designed to enhance preparation for graduate school.
Students in their freshmen, sophomore or junior year majoring in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science, or psychology who have previous research experience and an intention to obtain a Ph.D. in one of the sciences, leading to a career in biomedical or behavoiral research.
