RISE Scholar Wins ABRCMS Award

RISE scholar and Spelman junior biology major, Grace Olofintuyi, won an oral presentation award in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology division.  Grace’s research with Dr. Mark Maloney was presented at this year’s virtual ABRCMS conference as an oral presentation.  RISE Scholars had the opportunity to attend the Annual Biomedical Conference for Minority Students (ABRCMS) 2020 Conference, November 9-13.  ABRCMS, recipient of the 2019 AIMBE Excellence in STEM Education Award, is one of the largest communities of underrepresented minorities in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Students attend this conference to present their research, enhance professional development skills, explore graduate schools, and network. RISE is honored to have attended the virtual ABRCMS conference this year and we congratulate Grace on her incredible win along with the other bright RISE Scholars who presented!
