UNCF CPI Summer 2019 Undergraduate Internship

The UNCF Career Pathways Initiative is now accepting applications for a Data Analytics Intern and Program Management Intern for the 2019 summer. Interns must be current students at one of UNCF CPI’s 24 institutions. Applications are welcome from any major.

Experience: an opportunity to work for 9 weeks (May 20- July 26, 2019) in an organization focused on supporting and advocating for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Selected interns will have the opportunity to work specifically with UNCF’s Career Pathways Initiative (CPI), a $50M program that seeks to strengthen career outcomes between HBCUs, PBIs and the workforce.

Stipend: Interns will receive a $3000 stipend, and housing for the summer.

Travel: All travel expenses associated with traveling to and from UNCF and UNCF events (including the UNCF Student Leadership Conference) for the duration of this internship will be covered by UNCF.

Orientation: (Tuesday, May 21, 2019): Interns will participate in an all-day on-site training that exposes them to the mission and vision of UNCF, and meet with members of the UNCF Executive team as well as UNCF ICB/CPI team. (attendance required);

Internship Placement: Following the orientation, interns will be placed with CPI team members that will provide guidance and supervision as interns work on program related projects in the areas of Program Management and Data Analytics; additionally interns will participate in four lunch and learn Fridays, where they will hear from UNCF team members across departments and learn about several positions and functions within the organization, and nonprofits in general.

2019 CPI Summer Convening: All interns will have an opportunity to participate in the 2018 CPI Annual Meeting and Data Institute

Closing Meeting (July 26, 2019): Interns will have an opportunity to participate in a professional development day, where we will spend time updating their resume, creating cover letters, drafting recommendations, and creating an online portfolio reflective of the internship experience. Interns will also complete evaluations detailing their individual reflections of the internship experience.
