CPI Overview The UNCF® Career Pathways Initiative is a seven-year, grant-funded pilot program designed to enhance the capacity of selected Historically Black Colleges & Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs) to help their students find meaningful employment in their desired career fields. CPI aims to improve the ability of educational institutions to serve their two primary stakeholders: students who rely on these institutions to prepare them for life after graduation and employers who look to them for well-prepared college graduates.
Job Overview UNCF® Career Pathways Initiative is looking for an undergraduate Intern to work with the CPI Team on a number of projects that will assist in developing the necessary skills for individual to be competitive in the 21st century workforce. The ideal candidate has a basic interest in education policy & advocacy, research, conference and event planning. This individual should have an entrepreneurial spirt and has the capability to assist in the development of research, promote the brand goals and messages of CPI while, maintaining and aligning with the overall message of UNCF, and manage specific projects that advances the work of CPI.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic interns that if extended an offer will be able to start May 29, 2018.
Duties and Responsibilities • Manage various social media communities and generate creative materials for the various communities • Monitor online content and pull analytics as needed • Serve as an advisor on convening organization • Develop research projects and briefing papers around relevant workforce related topics • Attend weekly planning meetings updating and training team members • Other duties as assigned, including some administrative functions
Skills/ Qualifications/ Experience • Understanding of current topics impacting Higher Education and HBCUs • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills. • Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task competing project and priorities • Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited baccalaureate degree program
